NEW LINE'S 'TAKE THE LEAD' SITE POWERED BY PUMP AUDIO

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Pump Audio (www.pumpaudio.com), here, recently provided more than 50 tracks to New Line Cinema for a promotional tool that’s being used on the Web site for its new film Take the Lead. The feature stars Antonio Banderas as a Manhattan dance instructor who volunteers to teach ballroom dancing to a diverse group of troubled inner-city high school students.

The Take the Lead site (www.taketheleadmovie.com) features a Mash-Up Music Machine that allows visitors to create their own custom mixes and then save them as their own MP3 files. Pump Audio worked with New Line Cinema to supply 50-plus independent music tracks across such genres as jazz, hip hop, house, lounge and Latin.
“New Line Cinema is breaking new ground by blending great independent music into an interactive experience where anyone can create a hot musical mix online,” says Pump founder and CEO Steve Ellis.

In Take the Lead, the students mix their hip-hop culture with the classical ballroom dancing of their teacher.

“The Mash-Up Music Machine puts the same type of mixing into the hands of the audience,” explains Aaron Sugarman, VP of interactive marketing at New Line Cinema. “Pump Audio played a critical role by connecting us with a wide selection of high-quality digital music that was ready for use on the Web and free of copyright and licensing issues.”
