APOGEE SHOWS MAC PERIPHERALS

SANTA MONICA, CA - Apogee (www.apogeedigital.com) showed its Ensemble multichannel, 24-bit/192kHz audio interface at the recent AES show in San Francisco. The digitally controlled pro audio interface is designed for use with Macs and features 36 channels of simultaneous audio, including eight channels of Apogee's A/D and D/A conversion. The unit also features four digitally controlled 75dB mic preamps, two fully balanced inserts on mic pre channels, eight channels of ADAT I/O and two channels of Apogee's Soft Limit, UV22HR and Intelliclock.

Apogee's Maestro Software is included for advanced control and routing outside of Logic Pro.

Also at AES, Apogee announced that its Symphony PCI card, when combined with Apple's Mac Pro desktop computer, achieves low latency (1.6 milliseconds) and high numbers in channel count and plug-in performance. The Symphony PCI Express card connects Apogee's X-Series and Rosetta Series of converters to Apple's Mac Pro. This combination takes advantage of the speed of the new Intel-based Macs and Apogee's fast Symphony driver. The latency clocks in at 1.6 milliseconds at 96kHz, when measured from analog input to analog output. Other performance specs include 192 simultaneous audio channels.
