DIGIDESIGN SHOWS PRO TOOLS|HD 7.2, MBOX 2 PRO

DALY CITY, CA - Digidesign (www.digidesign.com) was at the recent Audio Engineering Society Convention with a number of products designed for post. Most notably, the company had Pro Tools|HD 7.2 software on display, which is now compatible with Apple's Intel-based Mac Pro.

Pro Tools|HD 7.2 has an enhanced feature set that includes a comprehensive automation package, extended video capabilities, new workflows with multi-channel field recorders, built-in dubber functionality, and more professional metering options. The free 7.2.1 release allows it to work with Apple's new Mac Pro.

Digidesign also showed Mbox 2 Pro, a $799 audio/MIDI production system that features high-speed FireWire-powered connectivity, high-definition 24-bit/96kHz resolution, and comprehensive I/O - six simultaneous inputs and eight simultaneous outputs. The portable, easy-to-use system includes Pro Tools LE software for recording, editing, sequencing, mixing, and mastering.

Strike was also on display. The $299 AIR instrument makes it easy to create professional drum performances in Pro Tools. Strike features a range of high-definition drum kits and style choices, and allows for total control over the virtual drummer's performance.
