EUPHONIX INTRODUCES SYSTEM 5-P WITH EUCON HYBRID

PALO ALTO – At the recent AES show in San Francisco, Euphonix (www.euphonix.com) showed a new and updated System 5-P for film and TV mixing. The new System 5-P and System 5-F (multi-operator version) include updated control surface modules that feature higher-resolution screens and touch-sensitive knobs.

The model Euphonix had on display incorporated CM408 fader modules, a new CM401 master module and the new CM402 sub-master module. These modules include faster possessors and more on-board memory.

The latest 2.9 software provides automation updates that enable the new touch knobs to write automation. Linking of multiple channels allows functions such as EQ to be linked for easy adjustment of multiple channels from a single set of controls. Also included in the software update are new assignment modes for the motorized joysticks, making it faster to access the joysticks for a selected channel or link.

Euphonix’s EuCon Hybrid option is also available for the System 5-P, providing external digital audio workstation control from the System 5-P’s worksurface. EuCon Hybrid connects the System 5 to an external network, where it can access multiple DAWs, including Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Nuendo and Pyramix. The DAWs run the EuCon Client Application in the background, allowing tracks from any DAW applications to be brought up onto the System 5 surface for full fader and knob control, with metering and track names displayed on the surface.

Tracks from multiple workstations as well as the System 5’s  own DSP channels can be brought onto the surface together. Layouts - the position of tracks on the surface - may be saved and recalled making it easy to switch between workstations, or to bring up like groups of tracks from single or multiple workstations and the DSP.
