VK2 HELPS PRO TOOLS USERS DEAL WITH PICTURE CHANGES

CAMBRIDGE, MA – Digidesign development partner Virtual Katy Development Limited (www.virtualkaty.com) showed the latest version of its sound post assistant, VK2, at the recent AES show in San Francisco. The plug-in allows Pro Tools users to easily manage audio as the picture edit changes.

The latest version offers significant increases in processing speed, tracing, and comparison engine techniques. VK2 users can trace the history of a shot, sequence, or any one element through the entire history of their project. They can also view the impact of picture edits within their Pro Tools session and adjust the parameters accordingly.

In regards to picture changes, VK2 users can now automatically process up to 2,500 picture edits in less than a second. VK2 began shipping in April and is priced at $995.00. Registered VK user can receive the VK2 upgrade for free.

Virtual Katy also introduced VK CNA at the show. The tool is the result of a marriage between the recently-acquired Change Note Assistant and VK change management technology.  When it ships later this year, the VK CNA product will offer all of the features and functionality of VK2, along with Change Note Assistant algorithms,
and support for the AAF format. VK CNA will be priced at $1,495.
