YAMAHA UPGRADES DM2000 WITH FREE EFFECTS

BUENA PARK, CA - Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems (www.yamahaca.com) has added effects and simulations processing to its DM2000 digital console with the recent introduction of the DM2000VCM model. Virtual Circuitry Modeling technology simulates analog circuitry characteristics, like resistors and capacitors, as well as emulates the analog sounds of the 70s, including that of classic compression, EQ and open-reel tape machines.

The Yamaha DM2000VCM, through its iSSP (Interactive Spatial Sound Processing) technology provides engineers with a wide selection of surround post effects and room acoustics modeling that not only predict sound reflection patterns based on room shape, but actually model the decay of the reflections based on source directivity and room surface materials.

Yamaha’s newest generation of the classic reverb, REV-X, takes full advantage of the console’s 24-bit, 96kHz processing capability, providing ambience, warmth and realistic, natural-sounding acoustics.

The new range of effects and simulations are free to all customers who purchased a DM2000 from May 22 until the anticipated new console release date of early fall. Software will be provided as an upgrade. After that time, all consoles will come complete with VCM technology at the same price as the original DM2000 ($19,500).
