PAUL CLAY TO LEAD LASERPACIFIC'S DIGITAL SOUND DIVISION

LOS ANGELES - Paul Clay has joined Kodak’s LaserPacific Media Corporation as supervisor of its digital sound division, which provides recording, mixing, editing and packaging services for the television and feature film industries.

Born and raised in London, Clay’s career began there in the 1960s, mixing and producing albums for artists such as Burt Bacharach, Dionne Warwick, The Who, Bee Gees, and Yes. In 1970, he edited music for the hit television series The Avengers. He later partnered with composer Bernard Herrmann and formed Music Supervision Ltd., where he supervised feature film music recording.

In 1979 he moved to Los Angeles to serve as the sound and music editor for Elton John's rockumentary To Russia With Love. Clay spent the next few years working as a supervising sound editor on an array of feature films and television programs. He has earned two Emmy Awards and four additional nominations for his work, as well as 25 nominations from the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) association.

In 1989, Clay began using WaveFrame digital technology, posting the television series Quantum Leap. He also provided full digital sound editing for feature films, starting with Wes Craven's People Under The Stairs.

At his own sound editing company – Clay Digital Sound – he has worked on the feature films Scream, The Wedding Singer and Shall We Dance, as well as on a variety of TV series.
