ICONIX'S LIGHTWEIGHT POV HD CAMERA

GOLETA, CA – Iconix Video (www.iconixvideo.com) is offering the HD-RH1 high performance HD POV remote camera, which is targeted at the broadcast television and digital cinema markets.

With a remote head that weighs only 2.5 ounces and a total system weight — including a universal HDTV controller unit — of less than four pounds, this 3-CCD HD camera system can capture and output video in all HD resolutions, including 720p, 1080i and 1080p while supporting frame rates of 24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 frames per second.

The camera controller provides the signal I/O and control for the head. It houses the transcoding electronics that enable the unit to capture and provide realtime switching capability between every SMPTE and ATSC standard HDTV format, and even NTSC and PAL.

“The HD RH augments and enhances the HD acquisition capabilities of both broadcasters and cinematographers, empowering them to devise new shooting techniques that would either be too difficult to set up and shoot or too costly to configure,” says Iconix CEO Dan McGuire.

Adds Iconix founder/CTO Wayne Upton, “No other camera this size is capable of acquiring HD imagery at full frame rates. Nor one retailing for less than $16K that can output in every HDTV format.”
