HARRIS TO OFFER SOFTWARE-ONLY VELOCITYX NLE

CINCINNATI, OH - Harris Corporation (www.harris.com) recently announced its NAB plans, which includes the introduction of a software-only version of the Leitch Velocity nonlinear editor. VelocityX will feature the same editing interface as the hardware-based VelocityQ and VelocityHD systems, and will include a new effects engine and enhanced performance.

The software-only version of Velocity was unveiled as a technology preview last year. The tool is designed to serve as a standalone solution, for those looking to outfit their facility with a low-cost editing seat, or as a cost-effective tool for VelocityQ and VelocityHD users that need a laptop editor for field applications.

Harris also plans to show the latest version of its VelocityHD high definition editor. VelocityHD combines Velocity software with Altitude hardware to offer full-quality, realtime HD playback and the ability to edit multiple video streams and dynamic graphic streams. Last updated to Version 9.1, with HDV support and variable frame rate processing for content from Panasonic's AJ-HDC27 VariCam camcorder, the next release will include expanded IEEE-1394 I/O support.
