BRIGHT SYSTEMS INTRODUCES SHARED MEDIA SOLUTIONS

RENO, NV - Bright Systems (www.4bright.com) has introduced the BrightDrive family of high performance shared media solutions. BrightDrives overcome the problems associated with handling the massive data files within a post facility by serving or sharing media simultaneously across both Ethernet and Fibre Channel networks (NAS and SAN), taking advantage of, and overcoming the inherent limitations of both technologies.

Users have concurrent access to files across multiple platforms and in any format to 4K and beyond. With an entry price of $29,950, and a capacity of 6.4TB, BrightDrive delivers powerful performance levels for a range of DI and data-centric applications, including: disk-to-disk grading, uncompressed SD/HD (4:4:4/4:2:2) collaborative editing and finishing, film scanning, dust bust/dirt removal and quality control, technical grading, VFX sequence playback, virtual film-out, conforming, color correction and mastering.

The BrightDrive range is fully scalable to meet the specific requirements of each application, and can be integrated easily with existing infrastructures. Every installation is delivered with the BrightDrive Data Management Suite, which comprises Data Mover, Data Optimizer and Data Wrangler, as well as secure, remote distributed system diagnostics to ensure reliable, consistent and uninterrupted high performance. Bright Systems offer a simple migration path from video-centric workflow requiring minimum or no operator retraining.

The first sale of a BrightDrive solution is going to a visual effects/editing house in Sweden.
