RED POSTING HD HISTORY CHANNEL DOCUMENTARY

LOS ANGELES - Bill Brummel Productions of Studio City, CA, and post boutique Red Editorial, here, are currently producing an HD documentary for The History Channel that?s going by the working title Decoding Opus Dei: Mystery and Controversy in the Catholic Church. The program will air in April or May and takes an inside look at Opus Dei, a global organization considered to be the most controversial force in Catholicism today.

According to director/producer George Tzimopoulos, the documentary was shot on location in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Rome using a Sony F900 camera. The project includes ?interviews with Opus Dei members, ex-members, journalists, academics and church leaders. Dramatic HD footage of Vatican City and other religious havens will also be used.

All of the post work is taking place at Red in LA, with owner/editor Chris A. Peterson, working closely with Tzimopoulos. The director/producer notes that the edit took approximately six weeks using Apple PowerMac G5s, equipped with AJA Kona 2 cards and running Final Cut Pro 5.

Storage for the project included two Huge Systems 4GBit Fibre Channel 2.5GB drives and four LaCie 1TB drives. Additional software being used includes Apple Shake and DVD Studio Pro; Adobe's After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop; and iView Media Pro asset management software.
