ASPEX ENCODER NOW INTEGRATED WITH ADOBE PRODUCTION STUDIO

BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, UK – Aspex Semiconductor’s (www.aspex-semi.com) Accelera HD MPEG-2 encoder is now integrated with the Adobe Production Studio suite. The Aspex Accelera is a PCI-X plug-in card with 16,000 parallel processing elements, designed to dramatically accelerate the time-consuming HD MPEG-2 video compression task, which runs many times slower than realtime, even on the latest multi-core workstations.

By accelerating the MainConcept MPEG-2 encoder built into Adobe Production Studio, the Accelera card provides professional HD users with significant productivity gains without changing their workflow. The Accelera supports all the existing MPEG-2 compression options already built into Adobe Production Studio, which as a collection includes Premiere Pro 2.0, After Effects 7.0 Professional and Encore DVD 2.0.

"With our plug-and-play acceleration capability, users can be back up-and-running in minutes, allowing them to spend their valuable time working on creative tasks, not sitting around waiting for compression jobs to finish,” says Jeremy Hendy, VP of marketing for Aspex. “And the tight coupling between the different components of Adobe Production Studio made our engineering task straightforward - we only had to integrate our encoder once, and all the different Adobe components can automatically make use of it."
