DEEPMIX HELPS COOL COORS LIGHT'S 'BLOCK PARTY'

HOLLYWOOD – DeepMix (www.deepmix.com) recently recorded a re-mix that’s being used in an upcoming Coors Light spot. Block Party is a :30 commercial that takes place in an inner city neighborhood where the summer heat is getting to the residents. A young man steps outside of his building, sees the long faces and tries to change the mood, plugging his iPod into a boombox.

The remixed version of the O’Jays “Love Train” blasts from its speakers and a the Coors Light Silver Bullet train comes to life from a billboard, cooling the neighborhood with its snowy exhaust.

The studio worked with Carol H. Williams Advertising and DJ Lethal on the “Love Train” re-mix. Lethal, known for his work as a scratch master DJ for House of Pain and Limp Bizkit, gave the track more of an urban feel, tying it to the block party setting and festive atmosphere.

The spot closes with the tag: “Taste the Cold.”

Visual effects for the spot were created by Digital Domain. The studio also provided effects for an earlier spot in the campaign.
