YOUNG-GU ART SELECTS IRIDAS REVIEW & CONFORM APP

SEOUL, KOREA - Young-Gu Art, here, has selected Iridas’ FrameCycler DI as its new review and approval system. The facility, provides visual effects services for the large Korean film industry. Young-Gu is using FrameCycler DI to review 2K scans and for playback of final visual effects renders.

"We chose FrameCycler for its realtime playback and primary color correction capabilities," says Ki-Wook Shim, VFX supervisor at Young-Gu. "We work with 2K 10-bit files, so we needed an application that can handle that. With the conform tools we can quickly assemble and edit the work of many different people," Ki-Wook Shim adds. "It's very helpful to be able to make color adjustments within our review and approval process. It definitely speeds up our workflow."

Young-Gu is currently working on D-War (www.d-war.com), a sci-fi feature film directed by Hyung-Rae Shim, based on Korean folklore. In the film, investigators at the site of a modern day massacre find a giant reptilian scale bearing the characteristics of a deadly immoghi serpent of legend. The film is schedule for release this winter.
