NEC EXPANDING LCD RANGE

ITASCA, IL - NEC Display Solutions of America (www.necdisplay.com) showed a prototype of a new 26-inch LCD display at SIGGRAPH. The LCD2690WUXi will be a part of the company’s MultiSync 90-Series of professional LCD monitors when it ships in October. The existing 90-Series already includes 19-, 20- and 21-inch (pictured) models that produce crisper and clearer images than those displayed on the MultiSync 80-Series. The line also offers increased energy efficiency, along with better control and connectivity.

NEC says the MultiSync 90-Series is designed for demanding professional users doing graphic design. Its in-plane switching (IPS) technology delivers impressive color reproductivity, contrast levels, gray-to-gray response times and brightness uniformity by minimizing off-angle color shift by producing clearer black tones in dark-colored images. Its vertical alignment (VA) LCD module technology offers high image quality, high contrast ratios and fast response times in a cost-effective solution.

The upcoming 26-inch model will be priced around $1,700. NEC also has plans to release a 24-inch LCD in November for around $1,500. A four-year warranty comes standard with all IPS-based models.
