HD ANIMATED HANKOOK SPOT HAS LOOK OF HIGH-END GAME

NEW YORK - Bi-coastal Shilo (www.shilo.tv) recently directed and produced a new animated HD spot for Hankook Tires. Conceived by the Seoul, South Korea-based advertising agency Cheil Communications, the :30 spot has all the action of a high-end video game, with good and evil cars racing through an urban environment, pushing their Hankook Tires to the limit.

The Chase was created over a six-week period and is airing globally. Autodesk Maya was used to create the 3D. Cube was used for managing renders, and Mental Ray handled the rendering. Textures were created in Adobe Photoshop and After Effects was used for compositing. The spot was edited in Apple's Final Cut Pro.

Jose Gomez served as creative director/lead designer for Shilo, with Tom Green also acting as lead designer. Green and Andre Stringer handled the edit.

Gomez, Green, Nate Davies and Eugene Gauran  produced 2D animation. 3D designers included Ethan Summers, Cody Smith, Trentity DeWitt, Davies, Matt Foley and Blake Guest. 3D modelers on the project included Summers, DeWitt, Davies, Foley, Guest, George Longo and Joey Struve. Dylan Cole served as matte painter. Kiel Figgins, DeWitt, Foley and David Weinstein handled 3D animation.

The music, sound design and mix was performed by Christophe Easleton.
