ADOBE CS4 SUPPORTS PANASONIC'S AVCCAM LINE-UP

SAN JOSE, CA – Adobe’s (www.adobe.com) new production software applications offer native support of Panasonic’s AVCCAM camcorder line-up. The latest version of Adobe Creative Suite Production Premium (CS4) supports all Panasonic AVCHD format products, with no transcoding or rewrapping required.

AVCHD is a new H.264/AVC high profile compression format that provides a near doubling of bandwidth efficiency with improved video performance over the older MPEG-2 compression used in HDV formats. As a result, AVCHD recordings made by AVCCAM camcorders are crisp and clear, even during fast motion, reducing image degradation associated with HDV and other tape or disc-based systems, as well as eliminating tape drop-outs.

Panasonic’s flagship AVCHD model, the AG-HMC150 professional 3-CCD handheld camcorder, provides users with high-quality 1080/720 AVCHD recording at bit rates up to 24Mbps and a simple, solid-state SD memory card workflow.

“We are committed to providing world-class technology and forging industry initiatives, such as our support of Panasonic’s P2 HD and, now, AVCHD formats, that enable our customers to create rich, engaging content and deliver it to audiences on virtually any platform or device,” notes Jim Guerard, vice president and general manager of dynamic media at Adobe.
