SNS SHOWS 'EVO' HYBRID STORAGE SOLUTION

LAS VEGAS - St. Louis, MO's Studio Network Solutions (www.studionetworksolutions.com) is demonstrating Evo at NAB, a shared storage solution for post production workgroups. Evo is designed for facilities that have been faced with the choice of deciding between a SAN or a NAS.  The system uses 4 Gb/s Fibre Channel and up to 10 Gb/s iSCSI and NAS.

The base Evo package ships with 4 Terabytes of high-throughput storage and accommodates up to six direct-connect Mac and PC clients via 4 Gb/s Fibre Channel and iSCSI over Gigabit Ethernet. Upgrade options will be available to add more storage to the system or increase the number of direct-connect Fibre Channel and iSCSI clients. A 10 Gb/s Ethernet option will provide a 10x increase in network bandwidth for NAS and iSCSI.

Evo also includes features such as advanced disk-provisioning that enable its drives to be arranged into storage pools, each capable of containing one or more volumes. Each individual volume can be assigned a discrete RAID level, so users can decide between settings that are optimized for performance, reliability, usable space, or a mix of all three.
