ATTO sets new benchmarks with NetApp

AMHERST, NY – ATTO Technology, Inc. ( reports groundbreaking benchmarks with the NetApp Media Content Management solution.  In recent ATTO Celerity Fibre Channel HBA testing, the NetApp Media Content Management solution outperformed all previously tested storage subsystems.

ATTO’s 8Gb Celerity Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) and Multipath Director technology improve the performance and reliability of NetApp enterprise storage systems running high-performance workstation applications exclusively on Mac OS X hosts and Windows and Linux servers.
In the recent testing, new benchmarks were set across several media industry test regimens, including the number of uncompressed HD video streams simultaneously supported for Final Cut Pro editors.  With four Mac clients running Final Cut Pro 7, the NetApp Media Content Management solution played back 22 streams overnight with no dropped frames.

The NetApp Media Content Management solution provides a highly scalable digital repository enabling media operations to consolidate collaborative production and multiformat distribution workflows for greater efficiency.  When paired with ATTO HBAs, high-bitrate uncompressed editing workgroups can be fully integrated into general facility workflows.
