LAS VEGAS - Daly City, CA's Digidesign was showing Version 6.1 of its Pro Tools DAW at NAB this week. The new version brings Avid interoperability to the audio tool and offers identical features on both Mac OS X and Windows XP platforms. Version 6.1 is currently in Alpha development and is expected to ship in the July timeframe. It will support the new AAF interchange format.

Digidesign also announced that it will be offering a DV Toolkit this summer, bringing timecode and OMF/AAF import/export capabilities to its LE (M-Box, 001 and 002) family. The DV Toolkit will carry a limited introductory price of $795, which will eventually go up to $995. The package will also include Digidesign's Intelligent Noise Reduction (DINR) plug-in as well as Synchro Arts' VocALign.
