MEDIA 100 SHOWING UPDATES TO NLE LINE

LAS VEGAS - Marlboro, MA's Media 100 www.media100.com arrived at this year's NAB with a number of enhancements to its line of nonlinear editing products, including it's high-end editor/compositor, the 844/X.

The company is showing Version 2.0 of the 844/X, which includes support for Xblur, the company's new 844/X option for realtime four-stream 50-pixel Gaussian Blur effects. It will also show HDX technology for capturing, processing and displaying in realtime both HD and SD formats on a single 844/X system. Version 2.0 and Xblur are both anticipated to ship in May, while HDX technology, it says, will ship in the second half of 2003.

The company is also showing Version 4.6 software for its iFinish Windows-based pro editing system. The new version now offers support for Windows XP and OMF export capability plus numerous workflow improvements. In addition, Media 100 has announced new iFinish PowerGrade configurations that come complete with an HP Workstation xw6000. Media 100 expects first shipments of iFinish Version 4.6 software to begin in the third quarter of 2003. New iFinish PowerGrade configurations are available immediately, with prices starting at $3,995.

And the company also recently announced Version 8.2 for its family of Media 100 i digital video solutions for the Mac OS X platform. Built on the Version 8 code base that the company redesigned in 2002 to take full native advantage of Apple's Mac OS X operating system, Version 8.2 expands the Media 100 I toolsets for editing, effects design and media management. Version 8.2 also provides Media 100 i editors with tighter integration to the 844/X.
