  • Tom Semmes, formerly with Harrison and Euphonix, is Soundtracs' new GM.
  • Yamaha is three weeks away from shipping its 01V 96 digital console, which will be priced below $2,599. NAB attendees that visit Yamaha's demo suite will be entered into a drawing for an 01V 96 giveaway, planned for May of this year.
  • Celine Dion's new show at Caesar's Palace is being mixed using an SSL MT Plus console. The same console is being used for commercial/promo work for the venue. Sony HD gear is also being used to produce the live show.
  • Imagineer Systems (www.mokey.com) has appointed Lulamoon Entertainment, the Miami-based company owned by 5D alum Nacho Mazzini, as a distributor and reseller for Mokey. At NAB, Imagineer demoed Version 3 of its Mokey motion effects tool, which includes new stabilization and grain manipulation modules.
  • Christie (www.christie.com) is showing a prototype projector based on Texas Instruments' 2K DLP Cinema technology in closed-door meetings during NAB.The projector, scheduled to ship in the fall, is designed for implementation in post houses doing high-resolution post work.
