Yamaha is three weeks away from shipping its 01V 96 digital console, which will be priced below $2,599. NAB attendees that visit Yamaha's demo suite will be entered into a drawing for an 01V 96 giveaway, planned for May of this year.
Celine Dion's new show at Caesar's Palace is being mixed using an SSL MT Plus console. The same console is being used for commercial/promo work for the venue. Sony HD gear is also being used to produce the live show.
Imagineer Systems (www.mokey.com) has appointed Lulamoon Entertainment, the Miami-based company owned by 5D alum Nacho Mazzini, as a distributor and reseller for Mokey. At NAB, Imagineer demoed Version 3 of its Mokey motion effects tool, which includes new stabilization and grain manipulation modules.
Christie (www.christie.com) is showing a prototype projector based on Texas Instruments' 2K DLP Cinema technology in closed-door meetings during NAB.The projector, scheduled to ship in the fall, is designed for implementation in post houses doing high-resolution post work.
