AJA INTROS VIDEO CAPTURE CARDS FOR XP SYSTEMS

NEW YORK – Grass Valley, CA’s AJA introduced three new video capture cards at this week’s NAB Post+ show in New York City. Designed specifically for Windows XP-based systems, the Xena family is a retail line-up that includes the LS, LH and LHe models.

Xena LH (PCI/PCI-X compatible) and LHe (PCIe compatible) support combined HD/SD workflows, while the Xena LS supports SD capture and playback. The cards will ship later this month with AJA's standalone deck-control/playback/capture application, Machina, along with a collection of plug-ins for After Effects, Photoshop, Combustion and Fusion.

The LH model offers I/O for both SD and HD. Priced at $1,790, it supports native 10-bit resolution and a broad range of file formats, including, DPX, Cineon, TGA, TIFF, BMP, and uncompressed AVI, and QuickTime. Xena LH also includes support for multi-channel audio.

Xena LS, for SD capture and playback, delivers high-quality video and a powerful toolset at an entry-level price point of $995. Like the LH, the LS supports 10-bit resolution SMPTE SDI video, with format support ranging from TGA, TIFF, BMP, and uncompressed AVI and QuickTime. Xena LS also includes 2-channel audio I/O support.
