MATROX BRINGS NEW EDITING SOLUTIONS TO NAB

LAS VEGAS – Montreal’s Matrox Video Products Group is showing its new Matrox RT.X2 high-performance realtime native HDV and DV editing platform that’s bundled with Adobe Premiere Pro. The system is designed primarily for realtime native HDV and DV editing. It also provides a high-quality MPEG-2 4:2:2 I-frame codec so users can capture other HD and SD formats using RT.X2's analog inputs and mix all types of footage on the timeline in realtime

Priced at $1,995 and including Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, Matrox RT.X2 will be available in May 2006.

Matrox is also showing the MXO, DVI-to-audio/video output adapter for the Mac that takes the DVI output from a Mac computer or laptop and converts it to broadcast-quality video. Users can preview Apple Final Cut Pro projects or the output of other QuickTime-based applications such as Motion, Shake or DVD Studio Pro from Apple, or Adobe After Effects, as they will actually appear on TV and record them, frame accurately, to tape. Matrox MXO can be used to provide a flicker-free video output of the computer desktop with any application, allowing the user to record and display Keynote and PowerPoint presentations, Web browser sessions, and software application training.

MXO will be available in June for $995.

Matrox recently announced that the next software release for its Axio realtime HD and SD editing platform will provide realtime native editing of OP-1A standard MXF files captured using Sony XDCAM and XDCAM HD devices. DVCAM, MPEG IMX, and MPEG HD will all be supported. The next release will also provide realtime native editing of OP-Atom standard MXF files captured using Panasonic P2 devices. DVCPRO, DVCPRO 50, and DVCPRO HD will all be supported with the release.
