PIXEL FARM DEMOS IMAGE PROCESSING TOOLS

LAS VEGAS - The Pixel Farm (www.thepixelfarm.co.uk), based in Windsor, UK, has launched Version 2.0 of its image clean up and preparation application, PFClean. Designed for DI and film restoration, PFClean is helpful for dust busting and rig/wire removal. The tool can automatically pre-process and clean up images of any resolution.

The company is also previewing PFTrack V.3.5, a camera tracking solution that allows shots to be broken down into different motion types and solved in a single pass. Version 3.0 of the tool is now available and includes 30 new features since the last release, including advanced object tracking, geometry tracking, editable F curves, imbedded image based modeling tools and automatic Z depth extraction.

Version 3.0 can now track many separate moving objects within a sequence, as well as solve camera motion issues. With the addition of geometry tracking, V.3.0 now allows 3D geometry to be imported into PFTrack and then matched to sequences, making it suitable for head and facial replacement.

New fully editable F Curves within PFTrack make cleaning up tracking data easy and accurate. Once edited, the new camera solver quickly produces a new camera without the need to totally re-solve every parameter in the sequence.

The new, fully integrated image based modeling capabilities allow users to quickly build up 3D environments by using the background image as a guide. Previously this has only been available as a standalone system.

PFTrack 3.0 is available free to current PFTrack users or for $5,000 for new users.
