AUTODESK IMPROVES LUSTRE WITH INCINERATOR

LAS VEGAS – Autodesk (www.autodesk.com) is at NAB with a number of post solutions, including Incinerator 1.0, which increases the realtime performance its Discreet Lustre digital color grading system. Incinerator uses computing cluster technology to provide realtime capabilities for complex primary and secondary color correction, as well as realtime visual effects processing at high-definition and 2K resolutions and accelerated 4K processing.

Primary color correction involves altering the entire image, while secondary color correction isolates and alters only part of an image. Incinerator is a modular system that can be shared by multiple Discreet Lustre systems in a networked workgroup environment. The system is compatible with the newly-released, Linux-based Discreet Lustre 2.7 digital color grading system but is not compatible with older versions of Lustre.

Autodesk recently closed the acquisition of Alias and is showcasing both Maya and MotionBuilder at the show. The Discreet Flame 3D visual effects system is being shown on dual-core workstations running the Linux operating system. Other tools on display include 3DS Max 8, Discreet Flame, Discreet Smoke and Autodesk Toxik.
