BOXX GIVING AWAY VFX 'STUDIO'

BOSTON – Austin, TX’s Boxx Technologies (www.boxxtech.com), which specializes in 64-bit hardware for visual effects professionals, is offering SIGGRAPH attendees an opportunity to win the core building blocks of a VFX studio. The “Studio in a Boxx” is comprised of two 3DBoxx 7500 Performance Series Workstations, two high-quality 20-inch displays from Samsung Electronics, three RenderBoxx 8200 Series render nodes and a Wacom Cintiq 21-inch tablet.

Attendees should stop by the booth for a chance to win. There, they can also check out the company’s 3DBoxx 8300 Series Workstation, a new high-performance personal workstation that leverages the power of Intel’s latest Dual-Core Xeon processor technology with workstation-class graphics and I/O.

Boxx is also showing its Apexx 4 and Apexx 8 64-bit workstations, which are designed to handle the most challenging aspects of the VFX pipeline. The Apexx 8 is a powerful super-workstation, capable of handling 2K and 4K film. The system combines the ability to work in realtime on very large files (with up to 128GB of memory) with the performance of 16 processing cores in a versatile system that’s quiet enough to reside right by the artist.

Boxx gear is also in use at partner booths throughout the show floor. You’ll find it at the AMD, Nvidia and PNY Technologies booths.
