BORIS FX SHOWING BLUE MOTION GRAPHICS TOOL

BOSTON - Boris FX (www.borisfx.com), the Boston-based developer of integrated effects technology for video and film, is at SIGGRAPH with Boris Blue, a tool for editors and compositors who want to create nice-looking 3D for their projects without the complex learning curves and render times associated with many 3D applications.

Boris Blue is suitable for studios that often have clients attending sessions as the tool’s realtime capabilities nearly eliminate render times. The application delivers realtime processing of 2D and 3D effects as well as realtime streaming of moving video and audio media within effect compositions. Blue users can easily adjust effect parameters during playback. The fast export to disk - including hardware rendered anti-aliasing, motion blur, and 3D shadow - provides significant time savings.

Blue is optimized for use with Nvidia graphics cards. Users can create 3D particles or turn 3D objects into particles. A single emitter can include multiple particle types. The tool also allows users to easily simulated texture, metallic, or shiny reflective looks that respond realistically to 3D scene lighting.

Transition effects include burnt film, erosion, and curtain wipes. Generators include animatable noise-based effects such as Clouds, Marble, and Electricity. Type On title containers allow for true 3D hardware accelerated animation of individual text characters within a single, editable text block.

Pricing for Boris Blue is $1,995. The application is also available as a part of a bundle with Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 ($3,495) and Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX ($2,295) graphics cards.

Boris FX is inviting customers to a wine tasting get together at its office (381 Congress St.) on Wednesday, August 2nd from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
