Valley, CA’s AJA Video (www.aja.com) is at SIGGRAPH with the latest versions of
its Kona (Mac) and Xena (Windows) video playback and capture cards.
The Kona 3 V.2 and Xena 2K feature advanced support and
plug-ins for integration with graphics and effects applications, such as Apple
Shake and Motion, Autodesk Combustion, Eyeon Fusion and Adobe After Effects and
Photoshop.
The Windows XP-based Xena 2K, with its V.2 software upgrade,
offers support within Adobe After Effects and Photoshop, with capture and
playback directly within the application, as well as custom plug-ins for Eyeon
Fusion 5 and Autodesk Combustion 4. All Xena products come packaged with AJA's
Machina software, allowing users to bring video and audio into 3D, audio, and
even CAD programs.
AJA will also showcase 2K resolution format support, via the
V.2 upgrade, for the Mac OSX-based Kona 3. The solution represents the company’s
top-of-the-line HD/SD video capture card, suitable for uncompressed capture of
SD, HD and Dual Link 4:4:4:4 HD for PCI Express (PCIe) Apple G5 Power Macs and
Apple Final Cut Studio. Kona 3 supports realtime interaction with graphics and
animation packages such as Apple Shake, Motion, and Adobe After Effects.
The card also provides hardware-based 1080-to-720 or
720-to-1080 cross conversion, as well as up- and down-conversion capabilities.
