SAN DIEGO - The Khronos Group (www.khronos.org) is an industry consortium
focused on the creation of open standard APIs to enable the authoring and
playback of dynamic media on a wide variety of platforms and devices. The
consortium is inviting manufacturers or developers of multimedia content for
games, DCC, CAD or mobile devices to attend sessions where then can learn about
new industry standards for royalty-free multimedia development.
Topics that will be covered include applications driving
next-generation handset requirements; opportunities opened up by innovation and
standardization in graphics and mobile gaming; and technological advances in
multimedia handset technology.
Khronos members and partners that are exhibiting at SIGGRAPH
include AK Peters, Ltd., AMD, Barco, Google, Mitsubishi, Nvidia and the Web3D
Consortium.
