ADOBE ADDS R3D & AVCHD SUPPORT

AMSTERDAM – San Jose, CA-based Adobe Systems (www.adobe.com) has a number of announcements coming out of IBC. The company is continuing its support of tapeless workflows by adding support for the Red R3D and AVCHD formats to its Creative Suite applications. The formats join existing support for Panasonic’s P2 and Sony’s XDCAM EX and HD.

The company is also showing technology designed to allow broadcasters and media professionals to create, deliver and monetize dynamic media across disparate platforms and devices. Adobe’s Flash Media Encoding Server is a new, scalable, high-performance solution for converting multiple video file formats into the Flash format. Adobe is also hinting to features of future versions of the Flash Media Server. These upcoming features include dynamic streaming for delivering a high quality, uninterrupted viewing experience, and the ability to pause or rewind a live video stream.

Also being previewed is the upcoming version of its Creative Suite Production Premium.
