DIGITAL RAPIDS EASES ENCODING & TRANSCODING

LAS VEGAS - Ontario's Digital Rapids (www.digital-rapids.com) is at NAB with products that enable content and rights owners to repurpose their content for new platforms, devices and distribution opportunities, be it IPTV, VOD, mobile phones or the Web.

At the show is CarbonHD, a format-agile HD/SD digital disk recorder with integrated HD/SD format conversion. CarbonHD supports uncompressed video and hardware-based JPEG2000 compression in lossless and lossy modes. For delivery, Digital Rapids is showing Copper C2, a global data delivery software that transfers media and data files securely with a significant speed advantage over FTP.

There is also a new software version of StreamZ, which offers SD media encoding, transcoding and streaming with hardware-based pre-processing for simultaneous output to multiple formats. StreamZHD is an HD/SD studio media ingest, encoding, transcoding and streaming server with integrated HD/SD format conversion.
