DNA GOES WITH HOUDINI, SEEKS ARTISTS FOR UPCOMING FILM

DALLAS - DNA Productions, known for its work on "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius," will base the CG-pipeline it's using to create a new feature for Warner Bros and Playtone on Side Effects' Houdini 3D application. The animated film is based on John Nickle's best-selling children's book, "The Ant Bully," and is being produced by Playtone's Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, along with DNA founders John A. Davis and Keith Alcorn. Davis wrote the screenplay and is directing the film.

In addition to providing DNA with its family of Houdini products for use throughout the pipeline, Side Effects will offer its consulting staff to assist in the production process. The company will help DNA with the pipeline set-up and planning, and will customize Houdini to meet DNA's specific production needs.

"[We] needed a solution that could tackle the many demands of an all-CG pipeline and be both flexible and responsive to our needs," explains Davis. "Side Effects Software's unique offering provides us with both integrated solutions and consulting services to help us create this film."

DNA is actively seeking Houdini artists for work on the film. Employment information can be found at www.sidefx.com/community/jobs/.
