VFX COMPANY LIQUID IMAGES LAUNCHES

SANTA MONICA - Visual effects company Liquid Images (www.liquidimages.tv) has been launched by Paul Song and Casey Gelvin with executive producer Valerie Schadt, and will be located within the offices of Cut + Run/Los Angeles. Liquid Images provides effects and motion graphic design for commercials, main titles and broadcast design. The company is independent of Cut + Run, but will serve as the company's visual effects and finishing arm on a project-by-project basis.

"There is an incredible benefit to being associated with a great company like Cut + Run," comments Song. "This relationship provides the opportunity for a unique collaboration while maintaining an autonomous business with distinct clients. It is the best of both worlds for all of us."

"Being able to offer my clients the opportunity to do complex, high-end visual effects by a world class artist such as Paul only strengthens the position of Cut + Run. This builds significantly on our existing in-house finishing capabilities, allowing me more flexibility with scheduling, bidding and adding value for my clients," says Cut + Run/LA Executive Director Christie Cash.

The brainchild of Song and Gelvin, Liquid Images is a next step for both creatives who bring a wealth of experience to this new entity. Over the years, creative director Paul Song has provided his unique talent to the national and international marketplace including The Finish Line in Santa Monica, La Truka in Barcelona, and Video Lab in three of South Africa's main cities - Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town. Focussing his talents on commercial advertising, Song enjoys collaborating from the early stages of pre-production.

Prior to launching Liquid Images, executive director Casey Gelvin was the Co-Owner of Stormy Brooke Productions and was a director and founder of Digital Quest Post Productions. The latter produced over 300 titles for high profile clients like MGM, Morgan Creek, Sony Pictures, Ventura Distribution and TOKYOPOP. Before his tenure with Digital Quest, Gelvin gained valuable industry experience working as an editor for Woodholly Productions.

Schadt has been producing for Song for the last two years working on commercials, music videos and feature film projects. Prior to her collaboration with Song, Schadt worked at boutique editorial house Superior Assembly for nine years. There, she served as managing director and executive producer of Music Videos overseeing the company's operations, developing editors and heading up the music video division. Schadt began her career in the music industry working at Giant Records.

Liquid Images operates with Discreet's Flame, Smoke and Flint.
