Under his leadership the
division has more than doubled revenue and significantly improved gross margins
across these geographies.
Before joining Avid, Sharp was managing director at Post
Impressions Ltd., a company formed in 1998 as the result of a management buyout
from the hardware division of Discreet Logic. From 1996 to 1998, he served in
executive posts at Discreet, including the role of senior VP. Prior to joining Discreet,
Sharp worked at Avid as a regional broadcast manager in Asia, and also held sales
roles at Tektronix, Alpha Image, and Dynatech.
Sharp moves into a role held by Charles L. Smith, who is
leaving the company.
