FOCUS ENHANCEMENTS ADDS HD SUPPORT TO DAM SERVERS

ProxSys is designed to replace the need to manually manage volumes of dispersed analog and digital videotapes, CD-ROMs, audio CDs, and digital images within an organization. The system manages terabytes of low- and high-resolution video, audio, images, documents, and data from a simple Web browser interface, allowing quick preview and access to clips from any location over the Internet.

“Now with HD support, ProxSys aligns strategically with our FireStore family of video acquisition products and our retail digital signage players,” says Michael Conway, senior VP of business development and strategy for Focus Enhancements. “[ProxSys] is specifically designed for managing and leveraging media assets in the video-driven business paradigm, giving workgroups unprecedented levels of access and immediacy without the tier one price tag.”

Version 5 introduces a number of new features, including HD native file support with MPEG-4 proxy extract. Additional file formats include DV, HDV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 MP@LL, MP@ML, MP@H14, 422@ML, and all 18 ATSC. Pricing starts at $25,000, and the V.5.0 software upgrade will be available to existing ProxSys systems for $3,495, not including installation.
