VIDIOTS NOW MIXING 'MTV CRIBS'

Vidiots recently added a new Digidesign Pro Tools HD suite, where mixer Brian McGee works on the show. McGee's first episode was the series' 100th. The program is edited on Avid Media Composer Adrenaline HD systems at Vidiots and then McGee imports the Avid OMF files into the Pro Tools|HD 3 system along with all the audio tracks. He separates the music, dialogue and sound effects tracks, cleans up the dialogue, rides the music to picture, and adds sound effects as needed from Vidiots' extensive stock library.

McGee's room is 5.1 capable and features a 45-inch Sharp LCD flatscreen HD monitor, a Digidesign Control 24 mixing surface, Genelec 5.1 monitoring and Yamaha NS10 speakers. Also on hand are a Tubetech tube compressor, Marshall JMP1 guitar pre amp, a portable Roland JV2080 keyboard module and Waves plug-ins.

A voiceover/ISO booth can accommodate three and is outfitted with a Neumann TLM103 mic.
