The Planet Philly commercial uses animation, rich textures and a red & beige color scheme that mirrors the online site's aesthetic. As the spot unfolds, the city of Philadelphia assembles before the viewer's eyes. Animated paper-cutout silhouettes of people fill the streets, adorned with famous landmarks, icons and words reminiscent of Philadelphia.

The spot was conceived by agency Gyro Worldwide in Philadelphia. Lightborne designers Chris Gliebe and Trevor Grubbs built and rendered the Philly-oriented design elements using a combonation of After Effects, Cinema 4D, Photoshop, Illustrator, and pen & paper. 3D Animator Chris Abby then applied realistic camera movements and implemented them into a 3D world.
