'TAKE A MEETING' EVENT OFFERS PITCH TIME

Prospective writers will receive advice from executives about how to improve their concepts and further develop their projects. The Take A Meeting event is an ancillary service that supports Final Draft's mission to educate and provide access for writers.

"We are very excited about bringing industry decision-makers from reputable companies together to meet one-on-one with aspiring writers," says Marc Madnick, CEO/founder of Final Draft. "While other events allow writers and executives to meet face to face, our Take A Meeting event offers writers more time to develop a rapport and gain professional feedback on career choices, stories and ideas."

Shelly Mellott, VP of events and publications at Final Draft, says participants can also attend seminars and classes at no extra charge. The seminars comprise the educational component of the event and will focus on the craft and business of writing and selling scripts, while the kick-off morning event, sponsored by Cinestory, will help build attendee confidence and set a positive tone by facilitating exercises to help foster good presentation techniques.

Upcoming dates for the Take A Meeting event include Los Angeles: September 5-7, and New York: November 7-9.
