HP INTROS ULTRA-THIN PROBOOK & NEW WORKSTATIONS

In addition to its thin design, the 5310m uses magnesium and aluminum construction for durability. A 2 megapixel Web cam comes standard, and HP’s QuickLook and QuickWeb features allow users to quickly turn the unit on or access the Web independently of the operating system. Four USB ports come standard, and the price starts at $699.

On the workstation front, HP introduced the new HP Compaq 6000 Pro and 6005 Pro, with starting prices of $550. The 6000 is an Intel-based version, while the 6005 uses AMD processors. Both are available with the latest Windows OS or Linux, and can be configured as towers or in more space-saving form factors. The AMD version is more feature rich, with a 64GB solid state drive that runs the operating system, DirectX 10.1 graphics, ATI’s 4200 card. A Blu-ray writer is also available.

New 22- and 24-inch monitors were also introduced, with prices starting at $190.
