RICHARD KING TAKES HOME SOUND EDITING OSCAR

This is the second Academy Award for King, who won five years ago for his sound editing work on Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.  He was also nominated by the Academy for sound editing on War of the Worlds.

King and The Dark Knight team also received the Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel Award for "Best Sound Editing: Sound Effects & Foley in a Feature Film." Members of the award-winning team include Christopher Flick (supervising Foley editor); John Roesch and Alyson Dee Moore (Foley artists); and Michael W. Mitchell, Hamilton Sterling and Michael Babcock (sound effects editors). Additional crew credits include: Andrew Bock and Linda Yeaney (assistant sound editors); MaryJo Lang (Foley mixer); John Paul Fasal and Eric Potter (field recordists); Eric Flickinger (recordist); and Tony Pilkington and Chuck Garsha (stage engineers).

King is currently serving as supervising sound editor and sound designer on Land of the Lost and Cirque du Freak for Universal Pictures. He will also supervise The Way Back from director Peter Weir. 

Earlier this year, King served as a judge for Post Magazine's "Sonopedia Sound Design Competition."
