White Mark sees strong studio design business

SUFFOLK, UK — Studio design firm White Mark Ltd. (www.whitemark.com) is reporting a busy end to 2010, with more than a dozen projects under construction on four different continents. The company is designing a post production complex in Moscow, multimedia facilities for an advertising agency in New York, a music recording studio in Mexico, and three different television post facilities in London.

White Mark was founded in 1997 and has worked on more than 170 audio production suites worldwide. Among the 40 it’s worked on in London include Grand Central, Hackenbacker, Envy, Scramble, Lipsync, Molinare, Ascent Media, Wave and Boom.

“We are noticing a definite trend for larger projects that involve a number of different recording, editing and post production facilities in the same building,” notes White Mark managing director David Bell. “It is not uncommon for us to be designing and installing up to 20 rooms at a time for just one client. Most of this work is for film and television production and post production customers, but we are still tackling the occasional music studio, although most of these projects are currently overseas.”

Projects completed during 2010 include a new London headquarters for German national broadcaster ARD, a Dolby certified audio suite for Factory Studios (pictured), and the installation of an in-house post facility at the London offices of advertising agency JWT.
