MUMBAI, INDIA — Reliance MediaWorks Ltd. (www.reliancemediaworks.com) has partnered with LA-based digital production studio Digital Domain Productions (www.digitaldomain.com) to create visual effects and stereo 3D production service studios in Mumbai and London. The facilities will cater to motion pictures, television, commercial, and stereo 3D conversion for catalogue projects, and will begin operating in August.
Reliance MediaWorks offers an array of VFX and stereo 3D conversion services with an existing team of more than 500 artists. The company will set up a new studio at its Media BPO in Navi Mumbai and will deploy an additional team of up to 650 artists who will be available for projects allied with Digital Domain. That number includes 400 VFX artists and 250 3D conversion artists.
In London, Digital Domain will co-locate a visual effects team within Reliance MediaWorks’ UK facility. Reliance MediaWorks studios in both Mumbai and London will connect to Digital Domain’s LA facility through Reliance MediaWorks’ fibre optic network, which can support seamless high-speed exchange of data.
