Pacific Post to package FotoKem's NextLab software with Avid NLEs

HOLLYWOOD – Pacific Post (www.pacpost.com), a provider of Avid rental equipment and editorial space for the film and television industry, is integrating FotoKem’s NextLab software into its editorial offerings. The agreement allows Pacific Post to offer the NextLab dailies and data management software solution with Avid editing systems.

FotoKem’s NextLab software securely stores media, archives to LTO, and provides quality control tools, audio syncing, color management, and transcoding. It manages a range of digital camera files and metadata, and incorporates the Academy Color Encoding Specifications (ACES) architecture.

“The ability to bundle NextLab-enabled systems with our existing inventory of Avid rental solutions and edit bays gives our clients an unprecedented level of efficiency,” says Pacific Post founder and owner, Lorenzo Sgroi. “We have witnessed the development of NextLab from the ground up, and know it to be an incredibly powerful, scalable and innovative dailies solution. When we looked at other systems, only FotoKem’s NextLab is backed by a renowned company with decades-long lab experience and an in-house software team, making it our first choice.”

Sgroi spent three years as a lead Avid Certified Support Representative (ASCR) technician at FotoKem, where he installed, tested, and supported Avid systems for productions in multiple locations. He has sustained a prosperous relationship with FotoKem since founding Pacific Post in 2004, collaborating on a number of projects over the years.
