TC Electronic debuts aNorm loudness processor

RISSKOV, DENMARK — TC Electronic (www.tcelectronic.com) is at the 2015 IBC show in Amsterdam with a new tool for its DB6 broadcast audio processor. The aNorm product is an optional stereo license for Loudness Pilot and keeps dynamics processing at a minimum by normalizing the signal intelligently, and only if normalization by itself is not enough to hit the loudness and LRA targets.

aNorm adapts intelligently, using just the right tools if dynamic processing is needed. It does not apply heavy compressing as default and can hit the pre-defined loudness target without squashing the audio.

The Butterfly Meter displays pre and post loudness normalization, and it is an integrated part of the aNorm algorithm. The graph instantly provides an overview of how and why the incoming audio is adjusted.

TC Electronic says the aNorm license for Loudness Pilot will be available in October for $650.
