The Mill extends remote color grading network

CHICAGO — The Mill (www.themill.com) has expanded its remote color grading network by now offering services in Atlanta and Kansas City, thanks to partnerships with Industry & Co and 19 Below, respectively. The network also includes US locations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, Miami, Portland and Virginia, as well as international locations in England, France, Germany, Norway and Portugal.

The Mill remote network is set up with professional-level monitors that are identically calibrated, run via a dedicated Internet feed and seamlessly stream HD pictures from grading suites and project rooms. In addition to color, the capabilities offered through remote partners includes 2D, design and editorial.

“Essentially every service we offer can somehow take advantage of the remote connection we’ve installed,” says Jared Yeater, managing director of The Mill in Chicago. “Most notably is color, where sessions can be held with any of our award-winning colorists from across all of our offices. But likewise, we can do sessions and interact in realtime on projects that involve finishing, large scale VFX, or design utilizing the same setup.”

“In expanding our capabilities in Kansas City and Atlanta, we’re able to further build and strengthen our client relationships by offering our services across a larger network,” adds Thatcher Peterson, executive producer of color at The Mill in Los Angeles. “We sought to partner with companies that have a strong presence in their communities and generate top-quality content with unmatched services valued by clients. We’ve found those partners in Industry & Co and 19 Below and look forward to many collaborations ahead.”
