Cakewalk releases low-cost Sonar Home Studio

BOSTON — Cakewalk (www.cakewalk.com) has released Sonar Home Studio for Windows, a new software tool for music production, be it creating beats, recording bands or composing video soundtracks. Priced at $49.99 and available for Windows 7/8/10, Sonar Home Studio allows users to upload directly to social media, play along with backing tracks or write soundtracks.

The new “Lenses” feature optimizes the experience based on what a user is looking to do – whether it’s recording a track, editing drum loops, or mixing songs. Lenses provides the right tools at the right time. The first time a user launches Sonar Home Studio, a guided Audio and MIDI setup, Help Module and Lenses will help get them up and running fast. Virtual guitar amps are included, as is a Step Sequencer for creating beats. Sonar Home Studio projects are compatible with all other Sonar editions.

The touch-enabled Sonar Home Studio also takes full advantage of new Windows 10 audio technologies and drivers to provide a desktop-like experience even with laptop and tablet computers. Over 1000 loops are included, along with 64 audio tracks/128 MIDI tracks, Overloud TH3 Cakewalk Amp Simulator, full drag-and-drop support, effects plug-ins, and a Rapture Session synth.
