'The Art of Post' celebrates personal creativity

LOS ANGELES/NEW YORK — Members of the post production community recently came together in Los Angeles and New York to explore and celebrate personal artistic achievements. Editors, animators, visual effects producers, sound designers, colorists and post supervisors behind films and shows such as Vinyl, Sex and the City, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Oz the Great and Powerful, Money Monster, and the soon to be released Ice Age: Collision Course gathered for the bi-coastal art show, The Art of Post — Creativity After Delivery (artofpost.com).

Presented and curated by the visual effects company, The Molecule (http://www.themolecule.com) The Art of Post featured personal artwork from over 50 artists. More than 400 individuals attended the events on both coasts.

“It’s no secret the post world is filled with artists, we’re inherently creative — on and off the clock,” says Andrew Bly, co-creator of The Art of Post and co-founder of The Molecule. “But getting together and seeing the immense talent hung on the walls of leading galleries in Los Angeles and New York was truly inspirational and humbling.”

Organizers intend to make The Art of Post an annual event. If you’d like to participate in the next show, keep an eye out for the call for submissions, which will open in six months.
