Music Video: Lil DIcky — Pillow Talking

CULVER CITY, CA — Visual effects house/digital marketing agency Giant Propeller (http://giantpropeller.com) recently completed work on rap artist/comedian Lil Dicky’s latest music video, Pillow Talking featuring Brain. The 11-minute video is about an awkward conversation that takes place after a one-night hookup.

Created and produced by Giant Propeller's Mike Bodkin and Jordan Freda, the video features a variety of VFX shots and builds, including alients, dinosaurs, talking wolves and an animated brain. John C. Reilly plays God.

Pillow Talking hit 1 million views in less than 24 hours. The video was produced over a nine-month period and cost $700K. The team used a Red Dragon 6K camera for the shoot. Editing was performed using Adobe Premiere. Screenlight was used for remote reviewing. Color correction was performed using a Nucoda system, and Pro Tools was used for audio post.

Visual effects tools included Maya, Houdini, Mocha, SynthEyes, After Effects and Nuke,
with Arnold and V-Ray for rendering.
