Achieve Programme offers career planning to women in VFX & animation

LONDON – Animated Women UK, the organization supporting women in the UK’s VFX and animation industries, has announced that its Achieve Programme is now open for entries. The Achieve Programme, which debuted in 2017, focuses on supporting women in the VFX and animation industries to achieve their potential.

Funded and supported by Creative Skillset, Disney, and Escape Studios, The Achieve Programme is open to women either in the VFX and animation industries looking to address the real challenges and barriers faced on a day-to-day basis. It aims to provide strategic career management and is run by acknowledged career development experts.

The course, which is open to women at all stages in their career, launched on January 18th, applications being accepted until January 31st. A total of 24 participants will be accepted. Run by accredited executive coach Marianne O’Connor and experienced coach, facilitator and trainer specialising in women’s leadership development Jan Armstrong, the course will consist of six sessions, taking place every two weeks in central London.

“The past few months have put women's position in the workplace right in the spotlight,” says Beth Parker, co-chair animation, Animated Women UK. “Finally our voices are being heard, and The Achieve Programme aims to support women to find the platform that will ensure their voices continue to be loud and proud. I am immensely proud of what The Achieve Programme represents and to provide women in the animation industry with the tools to help them progress within their careers.”

Fees for the Achieve Programme costs £225  for senior participants, £175 for mid level and £75 for junior level for the full set of sessions, and will consist of evening workshops in central London.
